Stroke Programs Earn Recognition From 'Get With The Guidelines®'
Baptist Health Brain & Spine Care Stroke Programs at nine Baptist Health hospitals have earned recognition from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association.
Baptist Health Brain & Spine Care’s stroke programs at nine hospitals, led by Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute and Marcus Neuroscience Institute, have received recognition from the American Heart Association's and the American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke initiative.
Baptist Health Baptist Hospital and Boca Raton Regional Hospital each received Gold Plus awards, along with Honor Roll Elite Plus status for a majority of stroke door-to-needle times under 45 minutes—maintaining 80 percent or more compliance with guidelines for 12 consecutive months. The hospitals also met eligibility for Honor Roll recognition in advanced therapy, signifying that door-to-device times were 90 minutes or less for direct arriving patients or 60 minutes or less for transfer patients. The hospitals also earned Honor Roll designations for type 2 diabetes management with protocols that aim to ensure that patients with type 2 diabetes, who might be at higher risk for complications, receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to stroke.
Baptist Health South Miami Hospital, Bethesda Hospital East and Baptist Health West Kendall Baptist Hospital also earned Gold Plus recognition for meeting performance guidelines for 24 consecutive months or more, along with Honor Roll Elite Plus awards for stroke and are listed on the Honor Roll for type 2 diabetes management.
Baptist Health Homestead Hospital earned the Gold Plus designation for meeting benchmarks for 24 consecutive months, improving from Silver Plus last year. It also received Honor Roll Elite recognition and is listed on the Honor Roll for type 2 diabetes management.
Baptist Health Fishermen’s Community Hospital and Baptist Health Mariners Hospital each achieved Rural Gold awards for stroke care.
Bethesda Hospital West earned a Gold Plus designation and is also listed on the Honor Roll for type 2 diabetes management.
