
Diego Torres-Russotto, M.D.,
Diego Torres-Russotto, M.D., chair of neurology and the Distinguished Endowed Chair in Neurology at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute and neurology program director at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, has been selected by the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) Governance Committee to serve on the NBME Council. The Council provides guidance to the NBME about physician licensing and standardized testing for physicians in training.
Since 1915, NBME has been helping medical schools and the Federation of State Medical Boards assess medical student and physician readiness through standardized assessments, such as the United States Medical Licensing Exam® and Subject Exams. Since 2015, Dr. Torres-Russotto has been volunteering at many different working committees at the NBME before been elected to the Council.
As a member of the Council, Dr. Torres-Russotto will support NBME's mission to protect the health of the public by advancing assessment of health care professionals to achieve optimal care for all through state of the art assessment of health professionals.
