Firas Bounni, M.D., has joined Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute as a vascular neurologist. He provides comprehensive, evidence-based neurological care, with a particular focus on stroke and other cerebrovascular diseases.

After earning his medical degree from Damascus University, Dr. Bounni spent five years dedicated to neuroscience research as a post-doctoral fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital. His clinical training spanned six years and included a neurology internship at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, an internal medicine preliminary residency at St. Mary Medical Center, a neurology residency at Tufts University Medical Center / Lahey Clinic, and a vascular neurology fellowship at the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Bounni has over a decade of teaching experience in both clinical and laboratory settings. He has served as an instructor at multiple institutions, regularly teaching as well as supervising medical students and junior residents. He is well-published and has presented at multiple national symposia.
Since many neurological diseases can be life-altering, Dr. Bounni strives to provide compassionate care that is both timely and accurate. “I believe every patient deserves expert care and guidance throughout their healthcare journey, from decision-making to recovery,” he said.
