Expert Orthopedic Care Has a New Home at Boca Raton Regional Hospital

The highest quality orthopedic care available in Palm Beach County now has a new home in Boca Raton, according to Anthony Miniaci, M.D., deputy chief medical executive of Baptist Health Orthopedic Care.

At the new Toby and Leon Cooperman Medical Arts Pavilion at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, part of Baptist Health, a full spectrum of healthcare needs are available to area residents, with specialized clinics dedicated to orthopedics, urology, and colorectal care.

Dr. Miniaci, an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and shoulder and knee surgery, leads a team of surgeons actively involved in clinical research to improve patient outcomes worldwide. He calls the new patient-centric facility “the new hub for Baptist Health Orthopedic Care” in Palm Beach County, noting that it is just the beginning of a major expansion already underway on the campus of Boca Raton Regional Hospital.

Baptist Health Orthopedics in Boca Raton occupies one and a half floors of the Cooperman Medical Arts Pavilion, with different areas highlighting the variety of specialty care we provide, Dr. Miniaci says. Patients will find the space has been divided into different areas for orthopedic specialists, including:

• Upper Extremity (Hand, Wrist, Elbow, Shoulder)

• Total Joint Replacements, Hip and Knee Arthroplasty, Foot and Ankle Surgeries

• Sports Medicine

• Primary Care

• Orthobiologics Injection Therapies

Enhancing the patient experience

The meticulously designed facility, which spans three levels and encompasses an expansive 61,500 square feet, includes a top-floor ambulatory surgical suite with five state-of-the-art operating rooms outpatient and overnight cases alongside 16 dedicated recovery bays.

Dr. Miniaci says the new Orthopedics Suite is designed with the patient in mind, with roomier exam rooms; robotic technology for hip and knee replacement surgery; X-ray on site, and MRIs and physical therapy just across the street.

“Do you want to see a top-notch shoulder expert? Or maybe the best foot and ankle surgeon? This location is a one-stop shop for the highest quality orthopedic care, with expert doctors in all the sub-specialties treating everyday patients as well as high school, collegiate and professional athletes,” says Dr. Miniaci, who does a lot of work with student-athletes at Lynn University.

Baptist Health Orthopedics in Boca Raton represents a centralized approach to the growth of Baptist Health’s orthopedic program in Palm Beach County, according to Dr. Miniaci, who says the new facility will also facilitate orthopedic research and education.

Under the direction of Dr. Miniaci and chief medical executive John Uribe, M.D., Baptist Health Orthopedic Care continues to expand its presence in South Florida and pioneer innovations in orthopedic medicine that unlock better treatment options for patients with musculoskeletal disorders.

“Our goal is to build a world-class orthopedic program in Palm Beach County to amalgamate with our programs in Miami to become one big orthopedic program,” Dr. Miniaci says. “We’ll have a second orthopedics hub closer to Bethesda West Hospital at some point, followed by expansion plans for Baptist Health Orthopedic Care across Palm Beach County.”

Dedication to providing highest quality outcomes is the number one goal at Baptist Health Orthopedics, says Dr. Miniaci. “We will be measuring and reporting all of our patient quality outcomes so people can see the difference we’re making in people’s lives here.”
