Neurologist Carlos Mauricio Millan, M.D., has joined Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Millan specializes in the treatment of epilepsy, including complex cases of pharmacoresistant (drug-resistant) epilepsy.
Dr. Millan earned his medical degree at Universidad El Bosque in Bogotá, Colombia. He served as chief resident during his neurology residency at Universidad El Bosque & Fundacion Santa Fe de Bogota in Colombia. He also completed six years of training that included an internal medicine internship, neurology residency and epilepsy fellowship at Jackson Health System, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
"Dr. Millan will help us build a robust epilepsy program and support the expansive neurology needs of our community," said Diego Torres- Russotto, M.D., chair of neurology at Miami Neuroscience Institute.
Dr. Millan conducts research in epilepsy and is published in peer-reviewed publications. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology.
