Aldo M. Riesgo, M.D.,

Board-certified orthopedic surgeon Aldo M. Riesgo, M.D., has joined Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. He specializes in adult hip and knee reconstruction. His clinical interests include primary hip and knee joint replacements, periprosthetic fractures, total joint infections and complex revision total joint replacements. In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Riesgo is committed to training the next generation of surgeons to skillfully help patients with challenging issues.

Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Riesgo was an orthopedic surgeon at Cleveland Clinic in Weston and served as director of the clinic’s adult hip and knee reconstruction fellowship.

Dr. Riesgo earned his medical degree at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases – NYU Langone Medical Center, where he served as executive chief resident during his final year. He then completed his fellowship training in complex hip and knee reconstruction at OrthoCarolina Hip & Knee Center in Charlotte, N.C. 

Dr. Riesgo is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of several other professional associations. He is actively involved in clinical research and has published his findings in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented his work at national and international symposiums. He also serves as a reviewer for several orthopedic journals. 

Dr. Riesgo is committed to helping patients who have been told their condition is too complex and there is no hope for improvement. “I offer patients hope guided by data, skill and experience,” he said. “I have had success treating complex cases and have refined techniques and methods to offer the best care to future patients.”

Dr. Riesgo is fluent in English and Spanish. He will see patients at three Baptist Health Orthopedic Care locations: 1150 Campo Sano Avenue, 3rd Floor, Coral Gables, FL 33146; 8940 North Kendall Drive, Suite 601E, Miami, FL 33176; and 19955 NW 27 Avenue, Suite 200, Miami Gardens, FL 33056.
