South Florida is celebrating a powerful partnership that brings together health and sports in an inspiring way. Baptist Health is now the Official Hospital and Sports Medicine Provider of Fort Lauderdale United FC (FTL UTD), the first and only professional women’s soccer team in South Florida. 

Central to this partnership are Baptist Health Orthopedic Care physicians, who will ensure the athletes receive top-tier care. Fernando Moya, M.D., will serve as the team’s medical director, alongside team physicians, Matthew Motisi, D.O., Maria Kyriacou, M.D. and Alex Mafdali, M.D, will provide specialized support as the primary care sports medicine physician. These distinguished physicians bring unparalleled expertise in orthopedic care and sports medicine, solidifying Baptist Health’s commitment to fostering athletic excellence.
